But what is Anarchy Day? I’ll tell you first what it’s not.
Anarchy Day is not about civil disobedience, nor is it about protesting statist holidays. Doing so will only create tension, and it will further divide and prevent curious statists/potential anarchists from joining our cause. If they see us mocking them, they will only hold onto their statist beliefs with the feeling of being trapped in a corner, instead of being open and receptive to seeing and hearing about what real freedom is like through anarchism.
Anarchy Day is about non-violently appropriating the fourth of July as our very own day of celebration. Please do not acknowledge the state in any way. Ostracism is one of the most powerful weapons we have towards ending the state.
